Assigning ads to zones

Assigning ads to zones

Understanding how the ad server chooses which advertisements to display on each specific zone is important in managing your advertising. Additionally, our solution controls zone assignment in several different methods. An assignment mode may be configured in the Settings / Common / Advertiser menu. So, let's learn more about the choices that are accessible.

Automatic mode

In this mode, the ad server automatically chooses the process by matching ad sizes (such as 728 x 90) and formats (e.g. banner).

NB. We advise ad networks or agencies to operate in automated mode. In this way, connecting advertisements, campaigns, and zones may be done automatically rather than manually.

Manual mode

This mode makes it easy and precise to determine where your advertisements will appear.

Use the icon in your ad lists or the "Assign zones" button on the ad menu.

or

When you click the button, a list of zones with the same size and format as your advertisement will appear. After making your selections, click "Save" to save the zones you want.

NB. You may want to use this mode if strict ad placement control is important for your organization.

Mixed mode

The automatic and manual modes are integrated in this mode. You can manually allocate some advertisements and campaigns while leaving others unassigned. In this case, a specific mixed logic will be applied.

The zone is considered 'free' when it's not linked to any ads/campaigns manually. A free zone can display free ads only.

When no zones are manually linked to the advertisement, it is regarded as "free." Free advertisements appear only in free zones on the ad server.

The ad server will run your ad/campaign in this specific zone and this zone only if the zone has been manually allocated to it.

NB. This mode is turned on by default because it enables you to test out various methods for assigning your advertising.  It is the most suitable mode for the majority of users. Furthermore, it automatically manages free advertisements and zones, so you don't have to link every one of your ads.

Campaigns to zones assignment

Our platform also offers zone assignment to campaigns in addition to advertisements. Both manual and mixed modes are possible.

The primary advantage of designating a whole campaign to one or more zones is that all its advertisements will be associated with those zones. The ad server will deploy formats (such as banners) and dimensions (such as 728 x90) to automatically match ads and zones. A lot more can done faster in this way.

After attaching your campaign to a zone, this logic will apply for both the ads you have now and any future ones you decide to add.

Use the icon in the list of your campaigns or the "Assign zones" button on the campaign menu. When you click the button, a list of all the zones associated with your account will appear. To find the zones you require, use a format and/or dimension filter, or use context search. Following that, you should choose these zones and then click "Save."

Using campaigns and advertisements assignment at the same time inside the same campaign is not recommended.

NB
If you frequently produce numerous ads for each of your campaigns and assign them to the same zone, this method might be helpful.
