How to increase fill rate using Tiers

Users of our platforms can divide their advertising campaigns into several levels (tiers). We'll go through how to use this functionality and how to use tiers to raise your fill rate in this post.

You may run many campaigns with various ad sizes, formats, and targeting parameters. However, this does not imply that you must display an advertisement to each visitor. This may result in blank spaces on your websites and missed opportunities to monetize your traffic.

The main reasons for low fill rate are:

  • Targeting: There might be a lot of geo-, OS-, and device-specific marketing campaigns. It could be making you money, but none of the traffic that does not match your targeting criteria will have display ad campaigns.
  • Dayparting: Some advertising campaigns would have to run on a specific day and at a specific hour. However, you could wish to have all your traffic monetized.
  • Frequency capping: If your other campaigns are subject to frequency limitations, there may come a time when your ad server runs out of advertisements to show for a particular visitor.
  • Ad sizes and ad formats: A variety of ad sizes and ad formats should always be tried. But are you certain that each one has adequate display ads?

How to increase fill rate using tiers

Our technology enables the use of many tiers (levels) of campaigns to choose which advertisements to display. While the default tier for new campaigns is 5, you may manually modify it at any moment. These tiers are rated from 6 to 1. The initiatives in the highest-ranked category, 6, will receive the most attention.

A Fallback Campaign, the lowest-ranked tier in our system, may help you avoid blank spots on your websites and boost your earnings even if having a multi-level campaign structure may be complicated and unnecessary.

Look at the chart below for further information:

The Fallback tier starts if none of the campaigns from the higher-ranked tiers qualify for display because of restrictions, targeting, or capping. For your Fallback tier, you may also put other campaigns to diversify your revenue streams.
